01 / Scene

## Start with a place and one open detail

Put the fictional adults somewhere specific: a late museum opening, a train platform after rain, or a quiet kitchen after a long evening. Then offer one detail that invites the other character to react. A compact scene leaves space for the answer to add something new.

02 / Signal

## Choose the emotional signal before the plot

Name the tone plainly: curious, teasing, tender, awkward, or quietly confident. One signal is more useful than a long trait list because it tells the next reply how to move.

03 / Boundary

## Make the adult-fictional boundary visible

State that every character is an adult and fictional, then name the pace or topic limit that matters. Keep the wording natural and specific enough to guide the next reply.

04 / Personalize

## Use a detail, not a permanent profile

Personalization can be temporary: a fictional character notices the rain, remembers the invented book mentioned in this scene, or chooses a more direct tone. Avoid sensitive personal data just to make the roleplay feel intimate.
Reusable opening
“We are two fictional adults in a late-night café. Keep the tone warm and curious; notice one detail and ask before changing the pace.”

## Adjust one element at a time

If the reply feels flat, keep the setting and change the signal. If it moves too quickly, restate the pace. Small revisions make it easier to tell what improved the conversation.

First-message troubleshooting

## When the opening feels flat, change one thing

A first message usually stalls because it offers nothing to notice, asks for too much at once, or changes tone before a scene exists. Add one physical detail, ask one open question, and let the answer establish the next turn. You do not need a biography, real name, or sensitive detail to make an adult fictional conversation feel personal.

Check three elements before sending: can the character tell where the scene begins, what emotional signal should guide the reply, and what boundary keeps the exchange adult and mutual? If one is missing, repair only that piece. A smaller edit keeps the premise clear and makes the next response easier to evaluate.
